Music Major Audition Process
SUNY Oneonta admits freshman and transfer students to the college and to the major they choose at the time of application. The Music Department requires an audition for the music major (MUSC).
The process for the audition is:
- Fill out the online form below. Once you click “Submit,” the music department chair will receive your request and inform the audition committee.
- The audition committee will contact you by email to setup the date and time of your audition. Auditions for Spring enrollment will be set up as needed, for Fall enrollment auditions will be offered between January 1 and April 15. The audition will last about one hour.
- About two weeks after the audition, you will receive a letter from the department chair with the recommendation of the committee. Upon passing the audition, you will be admitted as a Music major.
- The committee may recommend that you improve certain skills by taking one semester of lessons. You will audition again after that.
