Applied Music
*Enrollments in these courses are open to all students, regardless of major. Many opportunities to perform on campus and in the community exist through the courses.
An audition is normally required for placement and/or acceptance into the majority of the courses. Information on audition times and course availability is available in the music department Office.

Advanced Applied Music (Musc 270) 2 s.h.
Group or individual study of a vocal or instrumental repertoire beyond the level of music 170. Particular emphasis is placed on the stylistic and artistic interpretation of music, based upon mature musicianship and knowledge of correct performance practice. May be repeated for credit.
Applied Music Study (Musc 170-Studio Lessons) 2 s.h.
The study of vocal or instrument music to develop musicianship and performance skills, and to acquaint the student with the repertoire in a chosen medium of performance. Group instruction is normal, with private studio study sometimes available. Independent practice is required. This course may be repeated for credit.
