Television Production

Television Production is a component of the Creative Media Services group. Creative Media Services includes TV Production, Publications & Graphic Arts, the Faculty Support Center and the Print Shop.

Television production facilities are located near the West Dorm Drive entrance to the IRC. Our facilities include two digital television studios, non-linear edit suites, audio production labs and our Master Control Facility, headend to Time Warner Channel 23 and all on campus broadcasts. The IRC is also home to our Ku-band flyaway satellite uplink and digital remote production truck.

Our television studios feature Grass Valley digital productions switchers, Yamaha digital audio production consoles, digital Chyron character generators running Lyric software, Ikegami digital cameras, Grass Valley automated cameras and Canon HD cameras. Our edit suites are equipped with Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro HD.

In addition to our studio facilities, we also own our own field production truck, the only production truck at any of the 4-year SUNY colleges. Students have the opportunity to use this truck to produce not only sporting events, but other productions such as: political debates, theatre productions, and telethons for local non-profit organizations.

Other facilities include our television production facility embedded in the Alumni Field House. Services include: Production of videos for instructional, promotional, and informational needs; duplication of media in most tape, disk and digial formats; conversion of media from analog to digital formats; formatting of materials for use on the web, power point, and presentation programs.

WIRE-TV, Oneonta's student run television station, meets in the IRC Television Studios weekly for production and pre-production. Visit their website at for more information.
