Predeparture Information

The OIE transitions students effectively from their home country by communicating early prior to departure to the
United States.  Upon acceptance, students are provided with an acceptance packet with detailed information on how
and what to prepare for arrival in the U.S. and SUNY College at Oneonta.

Upon arrival, students are assisted with getting logistical matters such as communication, transportation, and banking established. Airport pickups are free to new students at the Albany International Airport, New York.  Experienced
traveling students may also fly into JFK, NY and take either the Amtrak train into Albany or take a bus directly to
Oneonta from the Port Authority in New York.   The Office of International Education only picks up new students at
the Albany (ALB),New York Airport or the Oneonta Bus Station.

 
New Student Pickup Dates for Albany Airport are:

Spring 2011:   Saturday, January 8 through Friday, January 14, 2011

Fall 2011:   Monday, August 15 through Thursday, August 18, 2011
