 Staff Assistant – Office of International Education – Positions for Fall 2012
(5-20 hours per week during classes; 40 hours available during qualified academic breaks and new student airport pickup week)

Job Duties:

  • Assist UPD and OIE staff members during airport pickup week – day and late evening hours required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Provide assistance to Director with correspondence and marketing to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Middle East, India, China, Africa, Latin America, as well as U.S. territories.

  • Provide administrative help within the OIE office to Director, International Student Services Advisor, Coordinator of Study Abroad, and Secretary. 

  • Provide campus tours to visiting faculty and administrators, and students, answer phone calls and monitor front desk/lobby area, greeting visitors to OIE. Prepare promotional materials for mailing.

  • Respond effectively to prospective international students (all cultures who will be corresponding in English) via dedicated OIE email account

  • Cover OIE Lobby and Front Desk operations (phone, etc.)

  • Assist Director with mailings, travel plans and logistics.

  • Setup for special events such as new student orientation, study abroad fairs, transfer fairs with Director and Study Abroad Coordinator.

  • Assist with activity programming with International Student Services Advisor.

  • Requires proficiency in MS Office applications, respect for confidentiality, and must be highly dependable.
