VI. STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

The Human Ecology Department sponsors four student organizations. Each group plans regular and special programs that are advertised on bulletin boards in the Department. New members are always welcome.

Membership in student organizations is a great way to develop new friendships, participate in exciting field trips, develop leadership skills, and learn more about your future career and to network with student and professionals who share your interests.

Human Ecology Club: National umbrella organization of the profession
Special Events: Attend professional conferences to network with professionals and learn up-to-date innovations in the field.
Meetings: 2nd and 4th Monday at 3 p.m.

Food and Nutrition Association(1) (FNA):
Special Events: Celebration of Nutrition Awareness Week and Trip to Northeast Food & Lodging Exposition, Catering activities, volunteering opportunities, etc.
Meetings: Mondays at 4 p.m.

Student Fashion Society(1) (SFS):
Special Event: Learn about the latest fashion trends while planning the annual fashion show.
Meetings: To be announced

Phi Upsilon Omicron (Phi U): National Human Ecology Honor Society
Eligibility: 2nd semester sophomore year, must have 3.0 GPA in major
Special Events: Member Initiation and Professional Project
Meetings: 1st and 3rd Mondays at 3 p.m.
