External Reviews of Human Ecology Programs

In order to ensure that we are providing the highest quality academic programs we review our programs on an on-going basis. An important part of our review process is to have external reviews completed on each of our programs by competent and qualified reviewers from other universities outside of New York State. Here is what others say about our department and our programs.

Overall, I was pleased by the careful preparation that evident in your materials, as well as the clear coordination of criteria, methods, and documentation. Notable examples are the programs in Human Ecology, each of which has well-defined programmatic goals and outcomes assessments and relies extensively on a student and learning centered approach. Your Foodservice Administration program appears expecially well designed, with emphasis placed on student learning and the documentation of learning outcomes. Similarly, congratulations on the initial accreditation of your Didactic Program in Dietetics by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetic Education of the American Dietetic Association. I also note the external reviewers were very favorable in evaluating your Apparel and Textiles Program, calling that programs faculty its greatest strength and describing them as well-qualified, and dedicated in devoting long hours to the success of their students......In commenting on your Child and Family Studies program, evaluators stated the following:"There are several notable signs of quality within this program, including program leadership, vision, personnel and curriculum and the students."
