Admissions Criteria

There are two ways to become an Honors Student.

  1. You may be contacted by the College Admissions Department when you apply for admittance to the College.

You will be requested to submit a writing sample of no less than five pages on topic of your choice. This sample can be newly written or can be an essay or paper previously submitted for class work. Your writing sample will be reviewed within 48 hours and you will be notified of the Program’s decision. Students who enter the Program this way will be automatically enrolled into relevant Honors sections for their first semester through Academic Advisement

Freshmen are also encouraged to seek induction into the national honor society Phi Eta Sigma but this is not a mandatory requirement.

  1. You may apply yourself for Honors status by contacting the Honors Director who will discuss the program with you and check your academic history to assess you eligibility.
