Committee on Research

 College at Oneonta

Introduction

Research grants are provided from the investment income of the College at Oneonta Foundation's unrestricted endowment, made possible through charitable gifts and grants to the College. A major objective of the Committee on Research is to encourage research and creative activity on this campus and to enhance that aspect of the educational mission of the College.

Students in any discipline or interdisciplinary area are encouraged to apply, and to the extent possible, will be judged using the standards appropriate for that area. Grant programs are awarded once per semester.

Student-Initiated Grants

The proposed projects should be truly collaborative student-faculty efforts. The student is responsible not only for carrying out the project, but also for writing the proposal, and the interim and final reports. The faculty sponsor is expected to be continuously involved in planning the project, assisting in its progress, and assuring its completion within the specified time frame. Grants are very competitive. Students are encouraged to work closely with their faculty sponsor.
