Spanish Minor Requirements
(18 hrs)
[beginning Fall 2009 and after]


Note: SPAN104 or approved equivalent (i.e., 4 years of high school Spanish) is prerequisite for entry into the minor.
 
 

Language-- Complete BOTH of the following (6 hrs):
SPAN202 Advanced Spanish Usage I (prereq. SPAN104)
SPAN203 Advanced Spanish Usage II (prereq. SPAN202)
Civilization-- Required Course (3 hrs):
SPAN204 Civilization of the Spanish-Speaking World (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN203)
Literature Intro-- Required course (3 hrs):
SPAN208 Introduction to Spanish Literature (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN203)
Literature Surveys-- Select ONE of the following (3 hrs):
SPAN311 Survey of Spanish Literature (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN208)
SPAN313 Survey of Spanish-American Literature (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN208)
Advanced Elective-- Select ONE of the following (3 hrs):
Any Spanish course not used above, between Spanish 300-399 (prereq. for almost all 300-level courses is a C+ or better in SPAN208).
