Spanish Minor Requirements
(18 hrs)
[beginning Fall 2009 and after]
Note: SPAN104 or approved equivalent (i.e., 4 years of high school Spanish) is prerequisite for entry into the minor.
- Language-- Complete BOTH of the following (6 hrs):
- SPAN202 Advanced Spanish Usage I (prereq. SPAN104)
- SPAN203 Advanced Spanish Usage II (prereq. SPAN202)
- Civilization-- Required Course (3 hrs):
- SPAN204 Civilization of the Spanish-Speaking World (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN203)
- Literature Intro-- Required course (3 hrs):
- SPAN208 Introduction to Spanish Literature (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN203)
- Literature Surveys-- Select ONE of the following (3 hrs):
- SPAN311 Survey of Spanish Literature (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN208)
- SPAN313 Survey of Spanish-American Literature (prereq. C+ or better in SPAN208)
- Advanced Elective-- Select ONE of the following (3 hrs):
- Any Spanish course not used above, between Spanish 300-399 (prereq. for almost all 300-level courses is a C+ or better in SPAN208).
