Dr. Laura Dohner joins the teaching staff at SUNY Oneonta after spending several years as an instructor at SUNY Binghamton where she earned her Ph.D. in Translation Studies. A native Ohioan, Dr. Dohner completed her M.A. in Translation Studies at Kent State University, and her B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature at The University of Akron. She teaches English composition and English as a second language. Dr. Dohner translates for renowned author Edna Iturralde, of Ecuador, and has recently completed the full-length translation of Iturralde's YA novel Simon era su nombre (His Name was Simon). Dr. Dohner is also a music aficionada and enjoys her work as Executive Director of The Catskill Symphony Orchestra.
