Joseph Baldwin

 

Professor Baldwin joined the English Department in 1964. A National Defense Fellow and a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Delta Psi Omega honorary societies, he received his B.S. from SUNY Cortland in 1960 and his M.A. from the University of Arkansas in 1962. He has completed additional graduate work at the University of Arkansas, SUNY Geneseo, Seton Hall University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has taught courses in composition and American, English, and World literatures; he is particularly interested in the works of Hemingway and Faulkner, American realism and naturalism, and the genre of detective fiction. Outside the classroom, Professor Baldwin is a consultant to Rotary Camp Onseyawa, a camp for developmentally challenged children on Lake Seneca, where he served as counselor and senior counselor for forty years. In addition, he participates in the public school mentoring program and the Big/Little Buddy program.
