New Critics: Undergraduate Literature and Composition Conference

Deadline for Submissions: January 31, 2010

Conference Date: Saturday, April 24, 2010

Location: SUNY, Oneonta in Oneonta, NY

Call for Papers:

On April 24th, SUNY Oneonta’s English Department, Parnassus, the English Club, and the Student Association will host a conference to showcase undergraduate writing in literature and composition. Students who are accepted for participation in the conference will take part in panels in which they will read their original papers on literature or composition (please note that the papers must be critical not creative works) and will participate in a question and answer period.  Reading time for the completed paper should be around 15 minutes (about 8 pages). Interested students must be currently engaged in undergraduate studies but need not be English majors. Critical papers on any literary topic, figure or time period, as well as composition papers on any subject are welcome.

Please send abstracts (limit one abstract per student, please) of 150-250 words as Word or RTF attachments to Prof. Bianca Tredennick at tredenbp@oneonta.edu. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is January 31, 2010.
