Department of English

Department of Anthropolgy

We are pleased to be one of the largest departments in our division and to offer a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science in English and English Education.

We have nearly 200 majors in English and several hundred Education majors with an English concentration. In addition to teaching, students with a major or minor can prepare for graduate school, the practice of law, business, publishing, administration, communications, and public service. This is an exciting time to study literature and writing as we have recently expanded our offerings in ethnic studies, environmental writing, world literature and contemporary criticism. Our graduates are uniquely well-prepared to contribute to an expanding global culture.

If you are interested in majoring or minoring in English, or if you simply wish to enroll in a class, please e-mail, call (607-436-3446), or visit us in Netzer Administration Building, room 322.

Chair: Dr. Daniel Payne
