SEMINARS FOR CHILD ABUSE AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION - CHANGES:

The Education department is no longer offering these seminars. Students who take EDUC 213 will automatically have met these requirements.

Those who missed our seminars, can obtain a video tape for the Violence Prevention Seminar in the Milne Library, watch the tape, answer the required questions and submit them. Dr. Joan Marshall is in charge of marking your answers.  You MUST tell the staff at the Library that you want the VT260 Video under Dr. Joan Marshall, or they won't give it to you. 

Child Abuse seminars are offered at local hospitals, and can also be attended through a program offered online by Medical Society of the State of New York: www.mssny.org.

JUST MAKE SURE A CERTIFICATE showing acceptable completion is obtained from any source attended and the certificate is sent to: Degree Clearance Office, c/o Registrar's, Netzer Administration Building, SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta, NY 13820. Otherwise you will not get credit on your SUNY Oneonta records, and it will not be reported to State Ed that you met the requirements.

REMEMBER: If you attended EDUC 213, you do not need to take any other child abuse or violence prevention seminars.

Test booklets may be obtained on campus from the office of Career Development in Netzer Admin building and a limited supply are available in Fitzelle 211, Education Dept.
