Dr. Tatiana Vislova is an Assistant Professor, hired in August, 2006. She specializes in Mineralogy and Petrology. Dr. Vislova is from Moscow, Russia and earned two degrees from Moscow State University. She came to the U.S. in 1994 to study at the University of Minnesota and, in 2003, received her Ph.D. from U of M. Her research experience includes extensive work on the Bald Eagle Intrusion of the 1.1 billion-year old Midcontinent Rift in northern Minnesota. She has worked in the field in such places as northern California, the Ural Mountains of Russia, the Crimea, Czechoslovakia, and, of course, Minnesota. For SUNY-Oneonta, Dr. Vislova teaches Earth Materials, Mineralogy, Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Environmental Geology, and our introductory course, Planet Earth. She has already been on several field excursions with her students and continues to do so as long as the weather holds! |
