Dr. Devin Castendyk (he likes his students to call him Devin) is our Hydrogeologist. He teaches the courses in our Water Resources major, formerly taught by Dr. Palmer. Devin is originally from Sturbridge, MA. He received his undergraduate degree in Geology from Hartwick College, just across the road in Oneonta which is one of the reasons he wanted to come back here to teach. For his M.S., Devin went to the University of Utah and then on to the University of Auckland in New Zealand for his Ph.D.! He specializes in pit lake water quality, that is the water which has seeped through pit mines.
