We have lots of excellent students who deserve scholarships. There are so many, deciding who gets the scholarships has become difficult. To make it more fair and impartial, we are asking students to fill out a short application form and include a resume.

The deadline for applications is the first Monday in April. For 2012 this is NEXT WEEK! (sorry for short notice).


Travel Funding

The Department wants to support student travel to conferences and field experiences. The number of requests for our support has recently increased so we are implementing an objective method for identifying students needing these funds.

Deadlines for applications:

Second Friday in February for all conferences Feb - Sept,
First Friday in September for all conferences Oct - Jan.

Majors' Night was Oct 20

Majors' Night is a fun and informative evening for Earth and Atmospheric Science majors but also for anyone thinking about majoring in our department.

Internships

Student internships are available in a number of government offices as well as private firms (consulting, forecasting, etc.). First check the list below and see what is available that interests you. Then, talk to your advisor. It may be desirable or even necessary to register for College credit to qualify for those internships. Your advisor can work through the application forms for internship courses.
