Non-Degree Graduate Students

Non-degree graduate (NDG) students are those who have earned a Bachelor’s degree, are not matriculated in a graduate program at the College at Oneonta and are admitted to take graduate or undergraduate courses.

Terms and Conditions for Non-Degree Graduates:

Students must submit an application, available here or in the Office of Graduate Studies, Netzer Administration Building, Room 135.  Applicants must include with their applications an official transcript reflecting award of a baccalaureate degree. Academic Advisement is available for non-degree graduate students.  To schedule an appointment, please call the office at 1-800-SUNY-123 or (607) 436-2523.

Admission as a non-degree graduate student does not guarantee future admission to a degree program, nor does it guarantee availability of  courses at the time of registration.  Non-degree students register for classes after degree-seeking students have registered.  not all courses are open to non-degree students.  Check with the offering department before submitting an application for admission as a non-degree student.

Non-degree graduate students who do not maintain a 3.0 in graduate level course work may be precluded from future enrollment.

Tuition and fees

Non-degree graduate students' tuition is determined by the level of the course the student takes.  Graduate courses are charged at the graduate rate; undergraduate courses are charged at the undergraduate rate.  See the Office of Student Accounts web page for current rates.

Non-degree graduate students register for classes through the Office of Continuing Education.  Registration forms and the schedule of classes are available on the Web or in hard copy from the Office of Continuing Education.  Academic advisement is available for non-degree graduate students.
