Dr. Fielhaber completed her B.Sc. in Biology at Concordia University College of Alberta and her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. She joined the Oneonta faculty in 2012, teaching courses in Cell and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Introductory Biology. During inflammation or infection, cells can be triggered to commit suicide through a process known as apoptosis. Dr. Fielhaber is interested in the molecular mechanisms by which these stressors control apoptosis, and their impacts on the function of the immune system.
