Dr. Bachman completed her B.A. in Biology at Macalester College and her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the University of Michigan. She joined the Oneonta faculty in 1999, teaching courses in Modern Biology, Genetics, and Human Genetics. Her research deals with major stress pathways in mammals, focusing on cell culture models of the heat shock response. Her group is using genetic, biochemical, and cellular approaches to understand the role of protein isoforms in stress responses.
