Explore the amazing world of aquatic life.  This course will focus primarily on the aquatic insects of the region, with collecting trips to rivers, streams, ponds, and lakes.  In the laboratory, students will learn to identify aquatic insects collected in the field to family.  Each student will curate their own aquatic insect collection as part of the course.  Lectures will focus on the astounding life histories of aquatic insects and the adaptations that made the return to aquatic life so successful for these insects.  Introduction to Aquatic Biology will meet Monday through Thursday from July 6 – 23.  For more information, contact Dr. Jeffrey Heilveil at heilvejs@oneonta.edu (telephone 607-436-3162).
