Cashman will begin her 11th season at the helm of the Red Dragon volleyball program in 2009 with one of the strongest recruiting classes to date. In 2005 Cashman eclipsed 200 wins as a head coach in a win against Elmira, and in her 10 years as a head coach at Oneonta State, she has an overall record of 218 – 188. In 2002 she guided the Red Dragons to a 31-13 season and the programs first SUNYAC title and NCAA berth. Cashman was honored by being selected as the Coach of the Year for both the SUNYAC and the NYSWCAA. At the completion of the 2000 season she was selected as the Conference's Coach of the Year after the squad qualified for the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time since |
1997. In 2006 the squad finished with a 23-17 record while appearing in both the SUNYAC and NYSWCAA tournament. The squad also earned the program’s third ECAC tournament berth, its first since 1997. During an association with Binghamton University that began in 1989 as an assistant coach for the volleyball program, Cashman spent time as a player for two seasons in 1994 and 1995 and was the head coach for the 1997 and 1998 seasons. As a player, Cashman led the program to its first ever SUNYAC title and NCAA berth while earning Regional All-America honors. In her first season as the head coach she guided the then “Colonials” to their second NCAA Div. III Tournament berth in 1997 and in 1998, her squad advanced to the semifinals of the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament as a Div. II team. A native of Binghamton, N.Y., she served as head coach of the Central Region open division team at the Empire State Games in 2003 and 2004 leading the team to a bronze medal at the Buffalo games in 2003. She also served as assistant coach in 2002. Throughout her ten seasons, Cashman has served on various regional committees while also serving five years as the Chair of the NYSWCAA Volleyball Committee. She has also served as the Vice-Chair of the SUNYAC Volleyball Committee and was the SUNYAC Representative for the NCAA Regional seeding and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA); while also serving on the NCAA regional seeding and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region selection committee. Cashman holds an associate's degree in business administration in 1984 from Broome Community College and is a 1996 graduate of Binghamton University where she received a bachelor's degree in English. She completed her degree requirements for a Master's in Social Science from Binghamton University in December, 2007. Cashman serves as the Senior Woman Administrator and she is a lecturer in the Physical Education Department. |
