Benoit enters his 15th year as a member of the Oneonta State Athletics Department and his second year as the Associate Director of Athletics. Benoit is primarily responsible for all NCAA compliance issues within the Athletics Department. Benoit will also oversee the Department’s sports event staffing and facility scheduling, as well as directly supervise the Athletic Training staff.

Benoit began his tenure at Oneonta in 1994 as the Head Athletic Trainer. In 2000 he assumed the title of strength & conditioning coordinator to coincide with his athletic training duties. In 2004 he received a promotion to Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine.

Benoit is a 1993 graduate of Marietta College in Ohio where he received his Bachelor's Degree majoring in sports medicine and English.  In 1994 he received a Master of Education degree with a concentration in athletic training from the University of Virginia.  Benoit is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and has been a presenter at various athletic training conferences and coaching clinics while being published in the Journal of Athletic Training.  He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist within this organization.

During his tenure at Oneonta he has also served as a lecturer within the physical education department and was the men's and women's cross country coach from 1997-1999.  He continues to be instrumental in the ongoing development of the Alumni Field House and Chase PE Building fitness areas along with actively carrying out administrative duties in the Athletics Department.  Benoit has served on many department and campus committees to better student life at Oneonta. Benoit lives in Oneonta with his wife, Meghan.
