Medici enters his fourth season at the helm of the Oneonta State men’s basketball program.  Last season the squad registered an 11-15 record overall while qualifying for the SUNYAC tournament.

In his first season three years ago he guided the program to a 12-14 record while qualifying for the SUNYAC tournament.  That season’s 12 wins was an eight-win improvement from the previous season and was the first time since 2002-03 that the program reached double-digits in victories.

Medici came to Oneonta after having spent the previous nine years at the helm of the men’s basketball program at Hudson Valley Community College.  During his tenure he amassed a 166-84 record while leading his squads to

nine consecutive NJCAA Region III Tournaments.  His teams appeared in three regional championship games and captured the 1998-99 title and participated in the national tournament.  His teams also won two Mountain Valley Conference championships and he was selected as the Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the 1999-2000 season.  Medici has also earned District I Coach of the Year honors at the end of the 1998-99 season.

Medici was an assistant coach at Sage Junior College of Albany prior to taking over the head coaching duties at HVCC.  He spent 17 years as a physical education teacher at Greenwich Elementary School and has worked various basketball camps during his summers.

Medici is a 1987 graduate of Cortland where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education.  He received a Master of Science degree in health education from Russell Sage College in 1994.  Medici currently resides in Latham, N.Y. with his wife, Ann and their three children.
