Painting Student WorkThe Painting area of SUNY Oneonta provides opportunities for students to explore various painting mediums. Courses in this area encourage students to learn fundamental to advanced processes in oils, acrylics, encaustic, and watercolor. Painting problems are designed to insure a wide range of technical skill, and an understanding of the coordination of advanced uses of space via abstractions and representational imagery. Both traditional and contemporary painting techniques are presented.
Painting Facilities Student WorkThe facilities of the Painting area enjoy a large and well-lit painting studio, and the cooperative use of the Woodshop. Students have the advantage of using the Woodshop to build stretchers and design fabrications for advanced painting constructions.
In addition, the Drawing and Design studios are used to teach Watercolor.
