Meet the Faculty
Dr. Christopher W. Keegan Assistant Professor, received his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo-SUNY where he focused on social and political philosophy. He holds a joint appointment in the Africana & Latino Studies Department and the Philosophy Department, and teaches courses in Contemporary Black Social & Political Thought, Latin American Political Thought, Philosophy of Protest, Race and Democracy, as well as Urban Philosophical Dilemmas. His current research comes in two related parts: first, a consideration of the moral and political boundaries of the principle and process of democracy, especially in relation to social identity; and second, an examination of the moral and political boundaries of the principle and process of democracy, in relation to notions of autonomy, authority, civil disobedience, and revolt. In summer 2006, he received a grant from the NEH to study these issues at Georgia State University in Atlanta. [email] |
