The last day to sign up for a PEER tutor for Fall 2011 is November 18, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.

I need a tutor for a course.

Students can sign up for a peer tutor for one hour every week for the rest of the semester for most 100- and some 200-level courses. Many courses are tutored via tutoring groups.

I need a Chemistry or Physics tutor, and I heard I can't get one.

You can get Chem or Physics help at CADE. You can sign up to get small-group tutoring in CHEM 100.

And CADE hosts Chemistry and Physics drop-in tutoring. Drop-in covers CHEM 111 (General), CHEM 226 (Elementary Organic), CHEM 221 (Organic I) and for Spring: CHEM 112 (General), CHEM 226, CHEM 322 (Organic II), PHYS 100, PHYS 103, PHYS 203 and PHY 205.

Check our main homepage for a schedule.

How much does a peer tutor cost?

Peer tutoring is provided for enrolled SUNY College at Oneonta students by Academic Affairs at no additional costs to the students.

Who are the peer tutors?

We hire peer tutors from among the student body. Tutors have taken the courses for which they are tutoring and have received a B+ or better in the course. All tutors complete a 2-hour training workshop. Many of our peer tutors have taken our tutor training course and have become certified tutors.

What will the tutor help me with?

Your tutor can explain concepts and terms from your course. The tutor can help you understand your class notes and/or your text, but you must read everything before coming to your session. You should come to your tutoring session with a list of questions for your tutor and bring any materials you have for the course (book, notes, etc.).

How do I sign up for a tutor?

To sign up for free peer tutoring, you will use Tracktion, our online scheduling service. Be sure to fill out all the information screens; without all your information, we won't be able to assign you a tutor. Immediately after you complete the signup process in Tracktion, you should receive an email at the address you provided. If you don't receive an email within a few minutes, you should either call 436-3010 or stop by the CADE offices in 225 Alumni Hall.

When you're ready to sign up, go to https://tracktion.oneonta.edu. Click on "I Need a Tutor" and fill out all the information on the screens.
